Experience

With more than 25 years of experience as a trial lawyer, Jonathan Boonin has represented companies and individuals in a wide range of legal disputes.  While he prides himself on the broad range of his practice, Jonathan has developed particular expertise in the areas of non-compete and trade secret litigation, employment law counseling and litigation, real estate litigation, and securities litigation.

Jonathan always strives to provide cost-conscious legal representation, and to resolve disputes in the most efficient and expedient manner for his clients. A highly skilled negotiator – Jonathan has trained extensively with and taught classes with Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation. He has also taught Dispute Resolution courses as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Colorado School of Law.

This strong background in advanced negotiation tactics imbues Jonathan’s legal work with a keen ability to delve down to the critical details of a matter, allowing him to effectively resolve hundreds of lawsuits for his clients over the years, prior to trial, through negotiated and mediated settlements. For those lawsuits that do not settle and must go to trial, Jonathan is highly experienced in the courtroom as well, having successfully tried numerous cases in state court, federal court, and in arbitrations across the country.

Jonathan grew up in Boulder, having attended Boulder High School and the University of Colorado. He is a graduate of Yale Law School.

Jonathan joined HBC after spending six years as a civil litigation attorney with a large Washington D.C.-based international law firm, three years teaching at Harvard Law School and at the University of Colorado School of Law, and four years as a partner with Warren & Boonin LLP, a Boulder-based law firm he co-founded.

In his free time, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family, traveling the world, and the occasional game of Texas Holdem with friends.
