Baine Kerr Elected to Texas Institute of Letters

HBC's Baine Kerr (a Texas native) has been elected into the esteemed Texas Institute of Letters.  The Institute is a distinguished honor society founded in 1936 to celebrate Texas literature and recognize exceptional literary achievement.  Current members include well-known authors Cormac McCarthy and Larry McMurtry.  Besides Baine, this year's impressive inductees include numerous award-winning novelists, columnists and playwrights.  Baine is the author of the two best-selling legal thrillers, Harmful Intent, and Wrongful Death.

HBC Title IX Lawyers Chris Ford and John Clune File Lawsuit Against Baylor University

HBC Lawyers Chris Ford and John Clune filed a groundbreaking Title IX lawsuit against Baylor University on behalf of a former Baylor student.  The lawsuit, filed on January 27, 2017, resulted in national media coverage.  Read more at:

HBC Celebrates its 125th Anniversary

In 2016, the firm celebrates its 125th anniversary.  Founded in 1891 by Albert Reed, Boulder was only a town of about 6,000 people when Reed became the 12th lawyer.  Since then the firm has been fortunate to evolve with and participate in Boulder's growth and success.  More Firm History can be found in under the "About Us" tab.

Connie Eyster and Chris Ford Honored as 2017 Lawyers of the Year for Boulder

HBC partners, Connie Tromble Eyster and Christopher Ford were each named a 2017 "Lawyer of the Year" for Boulder by The Best Lawyers of the America®.  Only a single lawyer in each practice area in a community is selected for this honor.  Connie was selected for Trusts and Estates and Chris was selected for Personal Injury Litigation-Plaintiffs.

These selections come on the heels of Brad Peterson's selection as the "Lawyer of the Year" for Denver/Boulder for Construction Law in 2013.

HBC's Adam Chase to be Inducted into Colorado Running Hall of Fame

HBC's Adam Chase is a member of the distinguished class that will be inducted into the Colorado Running Hall of Fame on April 20.  Adam is an accomplished trail runner, marathoner, ultramarathoner, adventure racer and Ironman triathlon finisher, participating in events all over the world.  He is also a prolific writer of all things running.  He co-authored the book, "The Ultimate Guide to Trail Running" and writes for Running Times magazine where you'll find his gear reviews and feature articles.  Adam is the President of the American Trail Running Association (ATRA) and he serves as a brand ambassador for Salomon and Atlas Snow-Shoe.  HBC is extremely proud of Adam and his accomplishments - running, lawyering and otherwise! 

Congratulations to Adam for his induction into the Colorado Running Hall of Fame.

HBC's John Clune and Chris Ford Reach Resolution with Baylor University

HBC partners John Clune and Chris Ford have reached a satisfactory resolution with Baylor University on behalf of the victim of a 2013 sexual assault by BU football player, Sam Ukwuachu, who was later convicted of that assault.

HBC Welcomes Robert Schuetze and Glen Gordon as of counsel

HBC's John Clune Featured Speaker for a National Crime Victim Bar Association Webinar

HBC's John Clune was a featured speaker at the November 19 session of the webinar training series entitled "Everything a Lawyer Can Do for a Victim of Campus Sexual Assault" hosted by the National Crime Victim Bar Association.  John's topic focused on how best to represent a victim's interest in a criminal prosecution or civil claims against the offender and how best to handle retaliation claims brought by the perpetrator.

HBC's John Clune Participates in Washington DC Title IX Roundtable

HBC attorney John Clune was asked to participate in a two day roundtable meeting this week at the U.S. Department of Justice with distinguished members of the Department, the White House, the Department of Education, Universities, and other Title IX experts.  The outcome of this meeting will shape the agenda in addressing campus rape for the USDOJ in the remaining 15 months of the Obama administration.  Several HBC Title IX cases were noted as case examples by other members of the panel during the discussions.

HBC Welcomes Robert B. LaManna as a New Associate

HBC is very pleased to welcome Robert B. LaManna as an associate attorney.  Prior to joining the firm, Rob practiced with the national firm, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, LLP, in California.  Rob is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, where he founded and served as the first President of the Law and Mind Sciences Association.  He was also the Vice President of the Environmental Law Society and provided legal assistance to University of Chicago Business School startup companies participating in the New Venture Challenge.  Rob obtained a B.A. in International Relations from Pomona College, with secondary concentrations in Physics and Economics.  He also studied at Cambridge University in the Faculty of Law.  He was named a Pomona College Scholar and was awarded Gold Honors upon graduation.  Rob played varsity soccer at Pomona College and Cambridge University.  Rob is admitted to the bar in California.
