Brendan is primarily known for two unique professional qualities that his clients find valuable. First, he adheres to a “founder-centric” philosophical approach with respect to representing the interests of entrepreneurs in all manner of transactions. Also, he has a penchant for successfully consummating “outside-the-box” capital structures and investment transactions, as well as “outside-the-box” business relationships and exit transactions for which there is little to no precedent in the marketplace.
Prior to joining the firm, he worked as in house counsel for local Boulder companies Leasetec Corporation and Schwinn Cycling & Fitness Inc.
-
Brendan acts as de facto general counsel for many of his clients which means he is often involved with all aspects of the company over the course of its life. This starts with building the capital/ownership structure, which typically entails memorializing the co-ownership relationship among co-founders, establishing sweat equity ownership programs, and consummating seed investment private placements. Brendan is also regularly involved in debt financing transactions, intellectual property matters, employment matters, customer transactions, joint ventures, and founder exit transactions of all kinds.
An effective and efficient partner to founders and entrepreneurs, Brendan works as an extension of their team to ensure entrepreneurs meet and exceed goals and dreams for their businesses.. This approach results in a more efficient and practical, but still comprehensive and state-of-the-art, legal representation for Brendan’s clients.
