Ken has been a practicing lawyer in the Denver/Boulder area for over thirty years, beginning as an associate with the Denver firm of Davis, Graham and Stubbs. Before opening his own firm in 1999, Ken was a partner in the Boulder real estate and construction law firm of Wells, Love and Scoby. His practice emphasizes design and construction litigation, construction contracts and documentation, mechanic's liens, real estate litigation, road law, drainage law, collections and real property boundary and access disputes.
Ken has been a Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado since 1977 (now inactive).
Prior to his legal career, Ken consulted as a consulting environmental engineer with R.W. Beck & Associates in Denver.
Ken has had a Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review attorney rating for 25 years.

Multimillion dollar settlements of construction and design defect lawsuits involving commercial and residential properties.
Prevailed in public road access cases for summer grazing and residential use of mountain properties under federal law R.S. 2477.
Prevailed in million-dollar delay and disruption dispute on federal prison project before federal Board of Contract Appeals Administrative Law Judge.
Prevailed in civil RICO construction dispute.
Arbitrator on three-member AAA panel for two-week environmental contamination dispute.
Procured severe evidentiary preclusion, pre-trial sanctions order, and post-trial default judgment sanctions against two garnishees in construction lawsuit.

Ken has been active in land conservation and non-profit service organizations for many years. For example, he and others recently created a conservation easement on 180 acres of mountain land near Estes Park. He was also on the board of directors, and then president of a dance organization, Tango Colorado, reflecting his passion for Argentine Tango.
