Experience

Randi has provided advice in the areas of sophisticated estate, wealth transfer, income tax and philanthropic planning to high net worth individuals for the past twenty-five years. She also provides counsel to entrepreneurs and business owners in structuring entities for tax and asset protection purposes and provides guidance on trust structure and assesses choice of trust situs. Randi complements her practice by working with high-net-worth families sustain family wealth across generations and amplify impact through family governance best practices, next generation education and by serving in various advisory roles within their family structures.  For the twelve years prior to joining HBC, Randi was a shareholder and Managing Director of Family Wealth Planning of Crestone Capital, a multi-family office headquartered in Boulder, and continues advising those families today. Prior to that, she was a partner of the boutique estate and tax planning firm Gelt, Paddison & Grassgreen, P.C. in Denver, as well as held various senior tax roles as a CPA at Ernst & Young, L.P.

Randi has taught several courses at the University of Colorado School of Law as an adjunct professor (2008 to present), most recently the Estate & Gift Tax Planning course.  She has spoken on trust, tax and estate planning topics throughout Colorado.

When not advising clients or working with nonprofits, Randi enjoys hiking in the Colorado mountains with her husband from their cabin, attending film festivals and traveling internationally for scuba diving and cultural exploration.

 
  • Randi served on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer for Social Venture Partners (SVP) Boulder County for six years (2013-2019); today she continues her involvement with SVP as Partner and member of its Board Development Resource Team. Randi currently serves on the Legal Committee for the Community Foundation Boulder County (2009 to present; former member of the Board of Trustees (2011-2013)) and on the Finance Committee of the Boulder JCC.
