Experience

Lydia will focus her practice on both Business & Corporate Law and Trusts & Estates at Hutchinson Black and Cook, bringing with her more than 17 years of legal experience to her practice. Prior to joining the firm, Lydia worked in private practice at firms in Denver and Boulder and spent over a decade as an in-house attorney, most recently working at a $12 billion global information technology company.  Her practice at Hutchison Black and Cook includes both estate planning and providing advice to companies on a wide variety of matters.

In her estate planning practice, Lydia provides counsel on estate planning, premarital and marital agreements, and probate and trust administration, as well as the formation of non-profit entities. She represents individuals regarding their marital agreements, wills, trusts, and other estate planning concerns.

She complements her estate planning practice by providing advice and counsel to businesses on such areas as the formation of business entities, real estate leases, technology transactions, contract negotiations, corporate governance, business reorganizations, and mergers and acquisitions. She also enjoys acting as ‘general counsel’ for her clients, drawing on her many years of experience as in-house counsel.

Her approach is to provide practical legal advice that accounts for the realities of operating a business within the confines of the law. Her goal is to always give her clients efficient and practical business solutions.

Lydia grew up on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio and attended Miami University (Ohio) for her undergraduate degree in Finance. She moved to Colorado in 2000 and graduated from the University of Colorado’s law school in 2005.

Outside of work, Lydia enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, skiing, camping, traveling, reading novels and cookbooks, and gardening.
