Turner Hughes is an Associate at Hutchinson Black & Cook, supporting the firm’s Real Estate and Business practice groups. In his practice, Turner advises clients on various transactional, corporate, and real estate matters. Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Turner gained experience at HBC, serving as a Summer Associate during both summers of law school.

Before entering law school, Turner was awarded the Robert B. Yegge Memorial full-tuition scholarship to attend the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he was also recognized as a 2023 ACREL Scholar by the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He served as an Academic Achievement Program Leader, where he held weekly sessions for students seeking additional guidance in their Contracts course. Turner also served on the board of the Black Law Students Association and worked in the Sturm College of Law’s Community Economic Development Clinic, advising local small businesses and nonprofit organizations on entity formation, contract drafting, and regulatory compliance.

In his previous career, Turner worked in commercial real estate financing for a national lender, focusing on loan underwriting, transaction structuring, and guiding transactions to successful closings with sound risk assessment. His financial background gives clients a practical, results-driven perspective when navigating complex legal challenges.

Outside the office, Turner enjoys live music, attending sporting events, exploring different food scenes, and spending time with his partner and their dog. He also maintains a longstanding tradition of traveling with his father each year to the NCAA’s March Madness basketball tournament.
